Scope and Contents This collection consists of eighty-six items, primarily letters, from American author Henry Miller (1891–1980) to Lois Cooling. Cooling was a friend of Miller’s and his typist. In the letters, Miller describes his move to Big Sur, gives Cooling instructions for typing his manuscripts and methods of remuneration, reports on the progress of his writing, and provides glimpses into his daily activities.
