Police guard prision during murder's last hours. Boston...ready for any emergency, State and Boston Police, well armed, were stationed at all points around the jail ready for any outburst from sympathizers of the condemned murders, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, during their last few hours. Prosecution claimed this shell was fired in a Savage automatic pistol. Hamilton discovered the ejector marks of a foreign piston. Shell found at scene of murder.

Scope and Contents The Fraher shell W. found a scene of murder. Prosecution claimed it was fired in Sacco's pistol. #1-2-3 are test shells fired in Sacco's pistol during trial. Sacco's gun's firing five strikes 23% off center of the primer. The Fraher shell has the dent in center. After Hamilton discovered this vital difference, the attys for defense invited the prosecution to fire 100 test shells in Sacco's gun to show it would not make a dent in center of primer - they declined the test.
