The supreme test by Dr. A.H. Hill superimposing a test bullet (from Sacco's pistol during trial) into the muzzle of his pistol. Each land and groove fit showing conclusively how they fit when you have the right gun and bullet. This bullet was fired by the prosecution's chief gun expert thru Sacco's pistol during the trial. Scope and Contents The Fraher shell W. found a scene of murder. Prosecution claimed it was fired in Sacco's pistol. #1-2-3 are test shells fired in Sacco's pistol during trial. Sacco's gun's firing five strikes 23% off center of the primer. The Fraher shell has the dent in center. After Hamilton discovered this vital difference, the attys for defense invited the prosecution to fire 100 test shells in Sacco's gun to show it would not make a dent in center of primer - they declined the test. Shows measurements of widths of the bands and grooves in Sacco's pistol. At the trial the prosecution claimed they were lands.060 "grooves .107" and that the mortal bullet measured the same. Notice how they fail to fit where superimposed as tested by Hamilton in photograph #4. View 2.

Scope and Contents

Shows measurements of widths of the lands and grooves made by the pistol thru which it was fired. The widths correspond to the gun thru which the bullet was fired and to no other. [See also MS 2030 Box 66 Folder 2b (a)].

Scope and Contents

The supreme test made by Hamilton by superimposing the mortal bullet into the muzzle of the Sacco pistol. The arrows point to vital misfits. This test shows conclusively that the mortal bullet did not pass thru Sacco's pistol. Compare with the tests when made with a test bullet that did go thru Sacco's pistol. See photo #5. This is the best fit obtainable by revolving one in the other. View 4 [See also MS 2030 Box 66 Folder 2b (a)].

Dr. A.H. Hill of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology measured the lands and grooves of a prosecution test bullet that was fired thru Sacco's pistol during the trial.
