Bartolomeo Vanzetti autographed letter signed to Raffaele Schiavania, [Charlestown], 1 July 1927

Scope and Contents

Regarding his and Sacco's suddent transfer to Charlestown Prison, and expressing mistrust in both Gov. Fuller's and the Lowell Advisory Committee's decisions. 1 s. (2 p.) In Italian.

Translation:

This letter is very similar to the one to [Luigi] Bertoni dated 1 July 1927 (Folder 1 Item 2). Recounts first scheduling of the date of execution, then sudden transfer to death house. Enemies are always victorious, they succeed by catching the defense off-guard. Hope always eludes us. Another slap in the face.
