Translation:

“It is two times that Virginia is not admitted to see me – I wonder of this, knowing him a member of the committee. Also it is three Sundays that I have not visit and I feel sure that some friends come and were refused of admission. Virginia left some stuff for me, two times, among which ‘some cigars,’ he said. I have received tobacco, but no cigars. Do not forget nor dely to ask back my letter to my sister. Please; tell Mary Donovan to keep and read at her easiness all the order books which she may please. Also, please let Mrs. Alice L. Blackwell know that I am improving, saluting her, and that I will answer as soon as I can. Will you bring me – without hurry – a pint of olive oil? How our sick friend is doing? I am told that the mailing of "Lotizia" was stopped, is it true? I do ot receive it from three weeks.

Will you send a postal card to the Brini, telling them that I received their Easter card – and that I will write as soon as possible? I have not seen any more of Lucy since that time – have you har news? Yet, tell Mrs. M.D. that I received her book and that I thank her very heartily.

Please, send the ajointed note to its address.

Now I am thinking to have ask you to do enough things. Excuse my bothering, dear Almeto.

Give my regards to all our friends – anything yet: try to have the address (for Europe) of Mrs. Elizabeth Glendower Evans and send it to me.
