Discourses on the joy the mail causes in the country. Having met a Captain Pouseland whose ship (Eastern Star) has come from Siciliy, "the Virgilian shore", the writer links his family with that of Aeneas. Remarks on the rapid seaman's career of "George the Second".

The family connection with Sicily was Mrs. Fanny Monti's residence at Palermo, where Luigi Monti was consul.

George the Second was George Ashton Lunt, 1848-1874.
