Scope and Contents
Assures Elliot that God has work for him. Dwells on the importnace of a thoroughly educated clergy. When prepared for college, Elliot can be placed on a church scholarship foundation at Washington College, Hartford. Repeats promise of $50 per annum for the period of his education. Alludes to Elliot's "filial wishes" (to reimburse his father) and suggests that he might help in the education of his younger brothers. Approves of Elliot's attending the high school in his village. 1 s. (4 p.)
