He was born June 23, 1834 in Reading, Massachusetts, and was active from approximately 1867-1921 in Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Lynnfield, and Wilmington, MA. His business was acquired by Dana F. Perkins & Sons, Inc. James Ames Bancroft died March 8, 1923 in Reading, MA.
