Abstract
This collection contains correspondence relating to the abolitionist John Brown (1800-1859), specifically the unsuccessful armed slave rebellion he led at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Of the 200 letters in the collection, 15 are written by Brown to his family, Franklin Benjamin Sanborn, and Thomas Wentworth Higginson.
